I always somehow end up here when there are people visiting from out of town. I guess it's one of the more classic places for Chicago Deep Dish Pizza that is more conveniently located (for me anyway). My experiences here have all been pretty similar. Service has been pretty decent. Their fried appetizers are pretty good, especially the Calamari. But most people come here for the Pizza. Deep dish is of course the way to go. I would definitely recommend either the Fresh Spinach or the Special (sausage, mushrooms, onions, & green peppers). Just be warned though, the deep dish pizza does take a while so it's probably better to have an idea of what you want to order before getting there.

Called to order a pizza, was told to wait a sec 10 times during the order bc the girl on the phone couldn't hear, was doing something else and was confused! When picking up my pizza it was wrong, was told to wait 20 min for another one! 10 people behind the register all clueless! Had to argue with a young man about getting a side of garlic powder instead of just garlic cloves! He insisted they didn't have it until I told him I had been here 50 times before and knew they had it, the pizza cooks who he asked laughed at him and told him no out of pure laziness! The cooks are cocky and very inefficient! Got second pizza and still wrong correct ingredients wrong pizza did stuffed instead of thin! Laura was very apologetic and is the only one who knows what's going on! New staff/ownership is not good yet do not go! 2hrs later still haven't eaten

On a night with every pizza place in the area telling my wife and I to bug off with hour+ waiting times the friendly staff at Giordano's by my house told us to come right down. We were seated immediately and ordered some appetizers and pizza. Our waiter was so nice, He took a drink off our bill because he thought he took to long.... obviously i added to the tip what it cost to recoup that drink. No one should have to lose money for something so silly. Over all great experience. If it werent for my diet i would hit this place yup alot! haha.

Worst place ever!!!!! I ordered a large pizza it took one hour. Then it took forever for them to seat us if it was crowded I could see but it wasn't it was dead. The pizza wasn't cooked it was nasty.

Tasted as if the pizza was frozen. Lou Malnati's and Uno's is way better.

This is our pizza place where we have our monthly committee dinner meetings. The service is a bit slow, one server for a big section of the place. This is good for us but not good if you are in a rush to go somewhere else afterwards. The place has a private parking lot however; it does get packed so we sometimes end up parking on the side streets. It's pretty big, there's plenty of room even a private dinner area for parties and they have thick theater curtains to divide the private room from the main dining room. There's flat screen TVs all over the place so you can watch the game while you eat. They have specials so check their websites like buy 1 pizza get 2nd half off including deep dish pizzas! This is what we usually order as a group: The menu has changed a bit, leaning tower which you can create your own combo. We usually get hot wings, mozzarella sticks, and fried ravioli all hot and crispy and fresh. We also order fried calamari. It's fried mix of tender calamari, green beans, lemon rings, hot peppers and fennel served with their marinara sauce Our main meal is of course their Stuffed pizza pies! It's been said that in true Chicago tradition, their stuffed pies are 40% bigger than our top competitors' deep-dish pizzas! So there's more food for your money especially for a big group. We usually order the fresh spinach, sausage and cheese, or pepperoni and cheese. A lot of food especially when you come here for buy one pizza gets 1/2 half off (one ingredient + cheese). Another pizza we would order is BBQ Chicken BBQ-basted chicken, bacon & balsamic onions - and we replace the tomato sauce with BBQ sauce on this one! They even offer GLUTEN-FREE CRUST available in 12-inch thin-crust pizza on request For salads, we like their house salad spring greens, romaine, arugula, baby heirloom tomatoes, radicchio and fresh fennel tossed in a light lemon vinaigrette with shaved asiago blend. And their classic Caesar creamy Caesar dressing, garlic croutons and shaved parmesan, romano & asiago cheeses. Overall it's an OK place. I like the food the service is meh...slow like molasses.

Bummer the Giordano's in Morton Grove has closed! I'll miss it. The next closest one is the Glenview location, which is only carry out or delivery only.

I was in Chicago visiting just for fun for the first time and I wanted some deep dish pizza and a friend of mine that lives in Chicago recommend this place. The service was great, the waitress was super nice and was very conversational and suggested some places for us to visit during our stay. The pizza was delicious and I would definitely come back for more. We were pleasantly surprised when we got the check and found out that there is a Monday night special and got almost $11 off our medium pizza.

Placed an order for a medium stuff with spinach and giardiniera. Had it delivered and pizza looked good from outside. As I started eating a couple of flaws: - Pizza didn't have the giardiniera as I have ordered and paid for. - Pizza didn't taste as if it was completely cooked. The bread still felt doughy. - Pizza had so much of a garlic taste, I have never tasted strong garlic where it stays in your mouth after its done. - On top of that I called and left feedback and I only got a apology with nothing else for the inconvenience. Probably would not eat at this Giordano's again. Btw my check number was 58322. If they pull it from their system it will show exactly what I ordered.

The last time I came here, my friends and I got a table in a somewhat secluded area in the back. It was private and no one rushed us out at any point. It was really nice. Our waitress was also friendly and attentive. We came on a Friday night. It was pretty busy but there were still tables as this location is pretty spacious. The parking lot was also quite full but I managed to find a parking spot. The pizza was great, as always. We ordered a stuffed pizza: half Spinach and garlic, half special, which has sausage, mushrooms, green peppers and onions. I was surprised to find that I liked the spinach better. (Surprised because I thought I'd like the one with meat better.) One slice of stuffed pizza is usually enough to make me feel pretty full. A medium stuffed pizza was enough to feed 5 girls. We had a slice leftover.

They remodeled about 5 years ago and it has that real pizzeria feel and decor. Plenty of parking and they have 40 percent off your pizza on Mondays - Note: Dine in only. We love the large deep dish with green peppers, mushrooms, onions and sausage. You can actually call in your pizza and time it perfectly. We walked right to our table and our large pizza came out shortly thereafter. This place gets way too many poor ratings which is astonishing to me.

I'm always a fan of having my belly filled. Chicago-style pizza does just that. I remember coming to this Giordano's location on occasion. I grew up on New York-style pizza and was curious how Chicago-style pizza would fare in comparison. So Giordano's was the first restaurant I've been to that served Chicago-style pizza. It definitely did not disappoint. However, I never had a baseline to compare until I had tried some more places. I've learned that there are definitely better Chicago-style pizzerias out there, but I will always remember Giordano's as my introduction to Chicago's pizza.

Pizza was not that great. The inside was newly remodeled and the service was great. Just something about the pan pizza I didn't like. I guess I'm just spoiled from the other pizza places I go to..

I'm agreeing with the majority of the reviews here regarding service and wait time. I came here for a quick bite before going to the nearby haunted house and knowing that Giordano's makes great pizza, this was an obvious choice. One surprise immediately was the lack of filled tables at dinner time on a Friday night. I wasn't happy to begin with considering the delivery drivers parked like completely inconsiderate employees. Trying to find a spot to park in a moderately empty restaurant while swerving around the delivery car obstacle course - really management?? Our waitress obviously had more important discussions behind the front counter with the plethora of other employees. After ordering their staple deep dish small sausage pizza, we waited for over 40 minutes. Sorry but even with appetizers or salads, that is way too long a wait. Nothing negative at all to say about the food as it's reputation for quality is second to none. Do something about your delivery clowns parking like new drivers while chain smoking and flapping on their cell phones right at the front door and you will definitely be filling your tables a little more.

This Giordano's was remodeled about 5 years ago. What a great restaurant for small groups. I have been here about 6 times with a group of 10 to 20 people. Every time this restaurant has serviced the group fantastically. The pizza is great. The atmosphere is great. The ability to accommodate 20 people with a phone call.....fantastic.

SSDD. If customer unservice were an Olympic sport, this location would easily take the gold medal. With apathy, Ignorance & rudeness they would actually sweep the medals. Bring back the JoJo's that once occupied this location. Never, ever going back.

Pizza was good, service was decent. It was a little bit awkward at first since when we walked in, nobody came up to us for a few minutes even though there were a few people behind the take out counter and we almost sat ourselves down because that's what we assumed we should do. Ordered the Classic pizza along with some beer. As advertised, the pizza took the whole 45 minutes to cook. It was pretty good - better than Lou Maltani's I'd say because the cheese is not as overwhelming. The green peppers were a little too dominant in the pizza but otherwise pretty delectable! After we got the bill, nobody checked up on us so we ended up going to the front to pay since we again assumed that's what we were supposed to do. While I'm not personally a fan of deep dish pizza, this place has better deep dish than I've had elsewhere! I'd say to improve hospitality a little bit more - I barely saw my waiter except for when he took our order, delivered our food and then our check. Also the place must have undergone renovations because it looks a lot better than it does in some previous pictures!

I wish I could give less than one star for the "new management" that has taken over this company. I will describe my entire experience (with pictures as well) to show why you should not spend your hard earned money. The young man that greets you is leaning against a podium while looking at his phone. He doesn't ask how many are in your party (just two of us), and just seats us with no words. Our waitress takes roughly 5-7 minutes to get a drink order, and has no idea of what beers are on tap or what seasonal items they have. By coming back and telling me what's on the menu is insinuating that I cannot read, which I obviously can. I ordered the wrong bread, and had asked if we could just add cheese to it, but she had to "confirm" that it was even possible. We hadn't even touched it. Put it in the microwave damnit. She was beyond terrible, as she would come back every 3 minutes and ask if we were ok, and not even ask us about a drink. We were also served water when we sat down that was pretty cold, but had no ice in it. Makes you wonder how long this cup has been sitting.... Our food can be described in one word: horrific. Flavorless dough, canned sauce from what it tasted as, $2.00 for about 8 jalepeños on top, and a change in cheese type. It was terrible. This item made me almost become almost irate. 2-3 women servers (pictures included here) were just sitting with these random guys. They were talking, drinking, and sitting with them while ignoring the restaurant. One other item that didn't affect me directly was what happened at the table next to us. The party had moved due to a baseball game on the tv, and they couldn't see it. The busser came in around 2 minutes after they left, and had asked the server, "Do they want their waters?" He replied that he was sure, and yet the busser picked them up and took them to the party. He doesn't know who's cup belongs to each person, and just set them there in front of them. That. Is. Disgusting. They should have just brought fresh waters. All in all, the items I took from that night: terrible service, lazy management (standing at the bar) and staff, crappy food, and an unclean restaurant. Please do not come here. I come all the way from California once a year to Chicago for this pizza, and will never be back. Also, don't believe the tipping scale at the bottom of your receipt. Do the math, it's around $1 off in favor of the waitress...

Let me first say that I used to love this place. Out of several different Giordano's locations that I have been to, this was my favorite. I am from out of town, but I would look forward to coming here. My boyfriend and I even had a favorite waitress- by everything was different when we visited on Friday evening. Food was off. Service was off. Everything was off. We came in and sat down for dinner and the first thing we noticed were flies buzzing around everywhere. The second thing we noticed was that multiple staff members were standing around...doing nothing. There was even a table in the back where two waitresses were sitting with two men that did not work at the restaurant. When they didn't have tables, they would sit back down and drink from their cups. We also saw what appeared to be two managers doing absolutely nothing. One, a female in a button up shirt, was by the bar talking and laughing with other employees both times I went to the restroom. The other, a man, was simply standing around behind the front counter. Considering how slow they were, you might think one or both of them would take it upon themselves to see how their customers are doing. Another thing that bothered me is that after asking for a second set of silverware (there was only one), we opened the new set up to discover that the fork, which we needed, was dirty. Our waitress was a nice girl, but knew nothing about the drink specials. My boyfriend asked about a certain beer and she told us she would go to ask about it...when she came back, it seemed that she had completely forgotten about that particular beer and listed off the beers that were already listed on the sheet. He decided to just pick one that was already on the sheet and I ordered a frozen lemonade. When I had finished my drink, she asked if I wanted another and I wanted something different, so I looked at the menu. Nothing really stood out to me, so I asked her if I could order from the bar/off their cocktail menu and she seemed nervous about that. She asked me what I was looking for and I said Jameson whiskey and sprite. She said that they only had the ingredients to make the cocktails on the menu. That was extremely disappointing and I wondered why she even bothered asking what I wanted if they were only limited to their cocktail ingredients. For appetizers, we ordered the chopped salad, the garlic fries, and the garlic/cheese bread. I will admit that it was our mistake- we said garlic bread when we ordered (the menu says 'garlic and cheese bread') but were surprised to see that they had made us garlic bread and not cheese bread. We did not know garlic bread was on the menu. We told the waitress that it was our mistake and we wanted cheese bread instead and asked if it would be possible to have that. She said "yes, it is." When we said it was our mistake. When that happened, I decided that I was dissatisfied with her as a server. I had given the benefit of the doubt up until that point. I work in customer service as well, and you NEVER agree with a customer when it comes to something like that. And not only that, but she had to go ask permission from the kitchen to add cheese to the bread. That confused me a little. Apparently it was fine because they made us a brand new cheese bread (which tasted pretty good). The garlic fries hardly tasted like garlic- nothing special about them at all. I had raved to my boyfriend about how good they were, and they definitely fell short of expectations. The salad was decent and seemed to be the only consistency in regards to the food. For our pizza, we ordered the deep dish pie with pepperoni, chicken sausage, extra cheese, and jalapeños. That is the exact same pizza that we ordered last time. Previously, we couldn't get enough of it. We ate the leftovers for breakfast the next morning. I almost didn't want to eat this pizza. You can tell that their recipe has somehow changed. The crust was undercooked and flavorless. The sauce was spread thin and also lacked flavor. The only jalapeños on the pizza were sprinkled on the top, not underneath the cheese and sauce as it was last time. Needless to say, we did not take the rest of our pizza home. I would also like to point out that before all of these changes, your server would serve you the first slices. We loved that about Giordanos...but our server did not do that. She simply asked, "do you need help serving?" Which was ok, but definitely disappointing. Needless to say, we will NOT be back to any Giordano's locations in the future. Whatever they have done to change their restaurants, it was definitely for the worst.

Disappointed at the service. We recently hosted a milestone birthday for about 15 people Our table was nice and appetizers were ready on time, but we seem to have gotten an inexperienced and overworked server. Sad!... Food is good and we got things when asked, but we shouldn't have to ask for menus or for our appetizer plates to be taken and new plates to be given to us for our main meal. An experienced/take charge server should be assigned to larger parties and special occasions! These are milestone events and you get bad service. What a shame!

We attempted to get a pizza delivery TODAY from the Morton Grove location following its recent re-oppenning. We had been customers of the location from 1999 to its recent closing in early 2015. We had previously been customers of the Rush St location, Lawrence St location in Chicago, and Rosemont location since the early 1980s when I was a student at Loyola University . It was a horrible experience starting with me being on hold from 5:55pm til 6:04 PM with no indication that someone would be with me and ending with me hanging up frustrated. However, My daughter decided to call back at 6:05pm and actually got someone placing a pizza order with the promise that it would be delivered by 7:05pm. However after not receiving the pizza in a timely manner , my daughter called the restaurant again at 738pm ( 33 minutes after the promised delivery time) and was told by the servicing girl that the pizza delivery guy ha left at 712pm and if he did not arrive by 805pm to call the restaurant again (in other words doubling the original delivery time). That being said, my wife feeling frustrated called the restaurant back requesting to speak to the manager (only to be promptly be put on hold for 12 minutes). Feeling frustrated, she hung up. At this time , I again entered the picture as I called the restaurant at 741 pm to cancel the order feeling that we weren't getting anywhere with what felt to be an incompetent staff and manager. However, the man who answered as soon as I told him I was canceling the order told me he could not do that and would get the manager. Again, I was placed on hold for 12 minutes. and hung up. I called back again at 753pm and again this time told a woman who picked up that I wanted to cancel my order. She said she would need to get the manager again to cancel and was not authorized. I asked her how long this would be and complained about my previous hold time but got nowhere. Finally, I told her that I would send the pizza back and would call the credit card company to stop payment. She said she would call the delivery guy to come back and hung up. At no time did anyone apologize or offer any compensation. And as of 1035pm, I still have not received an apology call from the manager. I am truly disappointed with the service under the new management at Morton Grove and will never be going there again. It is truly the worst restaurant customer service experience by far that I have experienced.

Where do I begin... Worst deep dish I've ever had. Sat down, waited 40 mins for a pizza with a white bread crust and a $40 check. The servers all stood at the front and hung out. I had to flag down someone else's server to get my check so I could gtfo. I've attached a photo of what deep dish should look like (see gallery). Best of luck Giordano's.

3.5 stars here. As far as the debate over Chicago deep dish goes. Im personally a fan of Giordanos. Mainly because its stuffed rather than a simple deep dish. The dough on top really does it for me and I like the taste of the sauce. We have been here many times but this occasion we had a spinach deep dish with sausage. Cooked perfectly and you can eat it all the way through the crust. we also tried the chopped salad and that is delicious. Very much looking forward to having that again. As far as the appetizers go kinda basic fried appetizers. We had the fried mozzarella which was kind of chewy. The service here is very friendly from the guys at the counter to wait staff. Our waitress was extremely friendly and really made our visit. The decor is nice and inviting especially after they recently remodeled. and they have a small party room for private parties.

All I can say is wow. Everything started well. First ones in. Server was friendly. Placed our order. 25 min later, two pizzas arrived. First thing out of my sisters mouth, "that was fast". Waiter serves each of us a piece of the pizza we wanted, small pepperoni and a medium sausage, onion, mushroom. I put my hot sauce on top of my pizza, pizza just aint pizza if it doesnt burn. Cut a piece and tried pizza. Pizza was cold, not refrige cold but pizza left out overnight cold. Pizza crust on the outside was nicely browned, but closed to burning. The dough on the inside still tasted like dough. The onions and mushrooms were uncooked, think in a salad. I waived to the waiter and both my sister and I explained to him its undercooked. **sidenight**. Waiter was newish, dont remember the early shift or new working at the place.** All I can say is deer in the headlights. He went and had the manager (also deer in the headlight) come and we explained to him. He offered is to put back in oven or make new pizzas. We took a few minutes to decide but didnt have that much time to wait for new pizzas that might or might not be cooked. We decided to leave. At least the staff was friendly but could have appologized a bit better. Which is funny. One of the managers said have a nice day as we left. Should have been informed since kitchen was sending out uncooked pizzas. *sidenote* classic pizza mistake, oven to hot so pizza on outside cooks fast but doesnt cook the inside** So this review will stand until I visit Chicago again. Still hopeing to get a good pizza here.

The worst customer service EVER! How in the world can a pizza joint have ONE delivery driver???? Really? Then he kept Calli g me because he was lost... With today's technology, he should have a GPS. Called the manager and she do not apologize but put me on hold and never came back. Needless to say, I never got my pizza. Morton Grove location has gone down hill.

So as a long time chicago area local I have my pizza preferences and always thought Giordano's fell in the middle. Due to that I had not had G's in few years but decided to break my habits and come in and sit at the bar and have a beer and order a pie to go. The restaurant as a whole is nice and typical of a chain establishment. The type of service you expect and ambiance you expect at a chain. Nothing special and adequate but nothing wrong with that. The issue here is the pizza (stuffed) to me it's dry and overly bready and u do love my deep dish chicago style pizza. Just doesn't measure up to Ginos or Lou's. And WOW was it expensive (spinach pizza and salad=$50). 3 stars BUT I won't be back soon. In my opinion there are better options.

I don't know why everyone is so hard on this place. First of all its half off on Mondays, and the pizza is always delicious. We get it almost every month or so. Never has our order been misplaced or has our experience been muddled in any way. Come here with no fear. On a Monday preferably.

So we ordered a pizza today and they messed up our order... It was a minor screw up, green olives were mysteriously added to our zaaa.. everyone was starving considering none of us ate and so we dove right in. But our poor friend is allergic to olives so he couldn't enjoy. We called back to tell them and they came back with the correct pizza and told us to keep the old one!! So nice considering not everyone minded about the mystery olives. Thanks Giordanos!!! :) the pizza was yummy

WORST SERVICE EVER! I'm not just talking about from our server, but from other servers and even the manager. March 31, 2014 9:16pm Arrived and seated by the host. He was nice. 9:28pm Server all servers passed by our table without acknowledging us. Not even a quick, "your server will be right with you." So I went to the front and told the manager, Gencho (sp?), if we could have a server come to our table. Btw, there were at least 6 other servers or hosts at the register standing around at that time! 9:31pm A busboy flags a server for us, she comes and takes our order. It took another ten minutes for our drinks. Bc the first server didn't ID my friend so she had to come back and ID her. The actual server Sam came and told us how she had an ordeal with a credit card. We ordered a Margherita Pizza with mushrooms. No mushrooms on the pizza when it came out. My friend asked for another drink and they didn't have any more, that's fine. But they charged us for two! Why not check before you charge! Especially when Sam, our server told us about how she opened up the last 6 pack the night before and how she might be out. Almost 1 hour and 45 minutes after we arrived, we finally got our bill. We told her 21 charged on the card and the rest in cash, and we will need our change. 10 minutes go by and still no change bc she told us the manager would bring it. Finally go to the front and get the change. Gencho tells is how he thought it was for the server. As we tell him about our experience the server next to him, makes faces as she tried to look away. The same one who came and took our order incorrectly and took forever to being the drinks. Communication people!!! Gencho should of came by the table to apologize about the wait and should of checked on us. But he never did. Mostly disappointed in the management then the servers.

I travel to Chicago a lot. Have always enjoyed Giordano's and have had it delivered to my hotel many, many times. This evening we ordered pizza for four, $33 plus a $6 tip, to our hotel room. All good, right? Wrong! The pizza arrives and is not cut. So, hotel room, uncut deep-dish pizza, and a tiny plastic knife. I called the location that delivered and explained the situation. I was promptly told they always deliver deep-dish "marked, not cut". I again reminded her that they knew they were delivering to a hotel. "Oh, well, that's how we do it". The only person less helpful was the manager (in title only) who informed me that they could deliver a new pizza, cut for eating, but that she'd need to charge me for another pizza...what!?!? The other option was to return the pizza to their location - to which I reminded her it was delivered to us. Good news though, they could pick up the old one - if I paid another delivery charge. Great pizza, good company, totally inept employees and (alleged) manager at this location. Yeah, let's raise minimum wage.

Really like how they remodeled this location, it looks great. As a big fan of deep dish giordanos has always been good. That's until I tasted all the other places and realized giordanos is on the lower end when it comes to taste of deep dishes. The pizzas are a little doughy, cheese got a rubbery texture and just doesn't taste fresh. If ur in the area or from morton grove you know your better off going down the road to pequads or my all time fav Lou malnatis!

  • Howard L.

I'll go with about 3.5 stars overall. The dining space is quite large and comfortable. It was quite busy on Monday night for their popular 40% off of pizzas deal on Monday evenings 5 -11pm. We had a medium deep dish sausage and mushroom ($22.75 regular price). The pizza was nice and very cheesy but quite skimpy on the sausage content. We recalled that of the Giordano's in Evanston one time years back as well. Pizza was good though nonetheless and hit the spot after a 35 minute wait. Probably will be back again sometime.

wanted to take my son to authentic chicago pizza we flew in from Houston because he graduated from naval bootcamp. although i was weary about the reviews we went anyways. The pizza is hand tossed and delicious!!! We ordered a cesar for the three of us and also very good, great drafts and lots to choose from. The ambience was great and the place is clean. They have some foreign girls working there and the communication was lacking so I can see the service issue but nobody was rude and everything was perfect. Great job.

They're pizza is okay.. Better on location versus delivery. Well I was only successful once ordering delivery. The other 5 times I called, the phone just rang and rang. I called twice just incase I could get through. I wasn't able to. The weird part is, when you visit this location they have about 6 people on phone lines or taking orders. Disappointed and truly a business loss for them.

Made a trip to Chicago and thought "At least I can get an authentic Chicago style deep dish pizza." I sure hope this isn't it. I've had better deep dishes back home in Cleveland. We ordered multiple items. I found everything to be bland and over priced. Also, when we phoned in the order they said they would call us when it was ready. Since the menu said that the deep dish would take 45 minutes to prepare I thought this was just standard practice. After 1 and a half hours I just went down there and found out my order was ready. Still waiting on that phone call. I found the whole experience so disappointing that I downloaded the yelp app just to warn you all. Stay away!

Very good deep dish. I have tasted better sauce, but they stuff those pizzas well. I would also prefer it without a second crust on top but still be deep dish. Definitely a good pie and worth trying while in Chicago!

WORST.... I MEAN WORST dining experience we have had. This was the first time in my life we have walked out of a place before we got our food. I have ordered delivery from giordanos many times but this time for a change of pace we decided to eat in. We went wednesday oct 30th at 730pm incase the manager wants to look up our order to see that we were in fact there. As we walked in we saw only about 6-7 tables full so thought that would equate to a low wait time...couldnt be further from the truth. We ordered some cheesy garlic bread which came quick and then We ordered a small THIN crust with 3 toppings. I capitalized " thin" since im fully aware the stuffed takes longer. 1 hr later we were still sitting there waiting for our food while our server was chit chatting it up with the people behind us about halloween parties. We were hungry and angry at this point so we decided to do what we have never done...leave. We walked up to the counter and I told the lady we just wanted to pay four our appetizer and leave since it was taking way too long for our pizza and we were very disappointed. She rang it up and gave a soft and simple "sorry about that" and that was it. you have people wait forever and just say yeah sorry? thats it? this was a very bad experience for us....we have gone to dine in before and had to wait quite a bit as well but that was for stuffed so understandable but for what we went through this time, the lack of interest by our server, the lack of compassion from the management I will NEVER dine in or order for delivery from this location again. They have now lost this customer for life I hope the cooks or employees enjoyed our pizza when it was finally done because we sure as hell didnt.

Absolute garbage. How this pizza place remains in business is a mystery. Cold food, small overly prices portions. Do yourself a favor and go to any other pizza place. I wish I could give negative star rating.

My review is SPECIFICALLY a review of the people the manager hires to deliver their pizzas. I have lost count of the number of times I've almost been involved in accidents with some of the delivery drivers here, all of which would have been no fault of my own. that's not even counting the many times I've almost caused an accident while trying to avoid being hit by a giordano's driver. how hard is it to hire people who know how to drive? I LOVE your pizza. I LOVE the remodel of the restaurant. my family has had parties at this location and we have always been happy with the service. but I will never order from you guys besides that because I don't want to come pick it up and I don't want anyone injured by one of your idiot drivers when my food is en route. who ever is in charge of hiring the drivers should really go back to drivers ed and then take a ride with these morons you have delivering your pizza. I don't have high expectations for delivery drivers in general, but these guys (and sarpinos) are the bottom of the barrel. don't order delivery... potentially save a life.

Great pizza and minestrone soup. Everything else is decent. Pizza takes FOREVER so call in your order 40 minutes earlier- especially for the stuffed- and have it waiting for you when you arrive. Busy on weekends. Hear they have a party room and would like to check that out sometime. It's pretty much the best restaurant Morton Grove has. I hope it stays.

While we order here frequently and I would give it a bigger rating based on food, service, delivery...When using one of their coupons for $3.00 off "Before tax!" - I was told that the three dollars is taken off AFTER tax and delivery charges. hmm

Look, I grew up on Giordano's and I love their pizza but I'm done with their price gouging. A large THIN CRUST pizza on delivery should not cost $38!

Disaster. Giordano's is struggling-- it's no news to anyone in the Chicago area. However, this location is an example of looks being deceiving. The store itself is clean and well-maintained, and there's plenty of parking. The food, service and pricing are absolutely abysmal. We've dined in around 8-10 times in our 4 years living in MG, usually on the half-price Monday nights. I'd say that on about half of those occasions, our order has been wrong. On the other half, we've waited for over an hour for our meal. Service is incredibly slow (usually have to flag down someone for a refill, check, etc) and unfriendly for the most part. We've interacted with two managers who have been somewhat helpful, but one of them told us that their headquarters was difficult to work with, and if he could change things himself, he would. Don't know if that's a copout, but it seems possible given the company's current situation. Pickup service is ok, but spending $28 on a 4 topping pizza is just not realistic. We try to save coupons sent in the mail or newspaper, but eating at Giordano's is fairly cost-prohibitive without them. For my money, I'll stick to Lou's and Pequod's. Keep trying, Giordano's. Hopefully D-Rose will be your savior, as well as the Bulls'.

I'm here in a Sunday afternoon. There are no customers and it is cold inside (75+ outside)!!! The service here is exceptionally poor. I see the staff playing chess in the center of the dining room, the food easily took an hour after we ordered and it took about 30 minutes just to come and take our drink orders!... not to mention, the server never bothered to serve us, so we served our selves. Considering we were their only customers at that time, i would have expected much better.

i used to eat stuffed pizza @ edwardos on howard street and various giordanos in the eighties. i was hooked on it from the start.i grew up eating chicago thin crust (the best thin crust in the us,sorry nyc). but when i had the chance to try the double crusted, cheesefest known as stuffed, i forgot all about thin. later i became hooked on deep dish pan and for years never had a stuffed. i finally came back to giordanos and stuffed pizza again and boy, did i miss it! the crust, the cheese, the tangy tomato sauce. simply delicious! i wont wait another ten years again to visit giordanos. i cant comment on the dine in option but this is great pizza. and please folks, deep dish is NOT stuffed. deep dish is malnatis, ginos east, uno and dues, gullivers. stuffed is giordanos, edwardos, carmens and others. some pizza places do all three styles.

Ill tell you one thing for sure. This was my first time here, and I'm never coming back here ever again. The one in Downtown Chicago is heck of a lot better. Everyone who got seated and ordered after us, got their entrees before we got our appetizers. When the check came.. under the appetizer title.. in caps it was labeled MAKE NOW. I believe Dida was the waitresses name.. well that's what it said on the receipt. She only checked on us once to ask about the food. Never came back.. Just at the end with the check and didn't even offer us dessert. I didn't sign the bill yet, but she came back three times to ask if i was done with signing the bill. I mean it's not like the place was full. And honestly, that was really rude. There were empty tables all around us. That's bad customer service period, no ifs.. Ands.. Or buts.. The food.. That's another sorry story. The only good thing about the dinner was the pitcher of Goose Island Green Line beer. We had calamari.. It was mediocre at its best. We ordered a medium deep dish with pesto chicken, spinach, and garlic. There was plenty of spinach, at least one full clove of garlic in each bite, and about three cube pieces of pesto chicken in each slice of pizza. It was one of the most horrible experiences i have had at a restaurant in a long time. And to the rest of you who had a good time.. Well slap yourself and call yourself Sally.

I came in on their Monday 50% off pizza special, dine in only. It was packed and the pizza took a long time to cook. I understand that. The kitchen must have been a madhouse. We're not a demanding table so we needed nothing while we waited and talked. Pizza was delicious. I had plenty of topping, and my server was very pleasant. It's definitely more expensive pizza, but this special is very helpful. It's really nice of them. I also thought their thin crust was so much better than expected. I'm not into the "cracker crusts". I like Giordanos chewy thin crust. It actually has flavor too. Some thin crust pizzas just taste like an unsalted cracker. Perfect cheese, perfect sauce.

Went for lunch on a Tuesday by myself for work. Wasn't crowded, ordered lunch special, pulled out yelp app to pass the time. Was ready to hunker down for long waiting after reading reviews. Salad came out within 5 mins of ordering. Pizza came out another 5 mins after that. I was in and out 35 mins total. First time to Chicago, wanted to try pizza. Got the personal pan, was good. But I'm a nyc slice person after all.

The deep dish pizza was great but the service was so slow. Our waiter was nice but he had a difficult time understanding us & seem a bit lost. It was hard to find him if we needed anything because he was overwhelmed with the many tables he had to cover. This place needs better staffing for quicker service! We even went on a slow night with only a few tables & did not expect to wait as long as we did, nearly an hour for our pizza! We noticed that the other people were also complaining about the wait. Next time, I will only order out from here!

Giordano's is the best deep dish pizza in town! My stomach just growled in support of that statement. I recommend a spinach/sausage/mushroom combo. This location is extra spacious and roomy and conveniently located on Dempster.

We have carried out pizza several times from this location, and the last few times we've been very disappointed.....tonight's take out was by far the WORST! We were headed back from the city and decided to bring home a deep dish pizza. At 6:58pm we placed our order & were told it'd be ready in 35 minutes, at 7:35pm. At 7:40 my husband began his wait....by 8pm (25 minutes after our pizza should've been ready) he was told it'd be ready in 2 more minutes. 20 minutes later he emerged with our 'pizza'.....clearly our pizza order had been overlooked. Once we got home & were ready to eat it we couldn't believe what we saw....a large deep dish pizza which looked more like a thin crust pizza in a deep dish crust....not to mention over baked, dry, & a worthless excuse of Chicago pizza. Very, VERY disappointing!

We came here the other night with a large group - about 16 people. They gave us the back room to ourselves, though honestly, we could have sat anywhere since there were maybe 3 other tables in the whole place. First of all, service is slooooooooooooooooooooooow. I think we sat for about 10-15 minutes before anyone came by for our drink order. And waiting for the pizza took forever! We ordered a few pizzas and one deep dish. We understood the deep dish would take about 35 minutes, but with the restaurant nearly full, it should not have taken almost an hour to bring out. The pizza itself is rather bland. The sauce is unremarkable in any way. Good thing they have spices at the table - they put nearly none on the pizza itself. One last thing that kind of irked me. As we were wrapping up, meaning finishing up our food, paying the bill, and starting to put our coats on, the bus boy came over and started clearing off the table. No big deal, but he was literally in our way, reaching over us, as we tried to finish up. It's not like he needed to turn the table quickly. Couldn't he have waited 5 minutes until we left? This wouldn't be my first choice for pizza.

While the service here is horrible (never checks up on you, no refills, unfriendliness, etc.), and the management could do a better job, I personally think that Giordano's has the best stuffed pizza - I always get their Spinach Stuffed pizza, sprinkle some Parm and hot chili flakes, and have 2-3 slices as a meal. Sometimes, there's a $3 off coupon in the Valuepak in the mail that one can use. You can always order for a carryout, no problem. While the pizza doesn't contain any ounce of meat (and, I'm a huge meat person), trust me - it's delicious! The pizza itself seems to get thinner and smaller in size (less cheese, less fillings) - I'm not sure if it's only this location that's getting stingy with the ingredients or in all Giordano's locations in general, but my cravings for a deep dish gets fulfilled here. Also, on Mondays, they have 50% off all pizzas, so the place gets packed for diners. +stuffed spinach! +go on Tuesdays for 50% off +order ahead for a pick-up

Boo. Delivery took over an hour. I had to call to check on it. Pizza was cold and boring. You can better in Chicago. Pequods is way better. Or any take and bake from any grocery store. I won't be eating there again. $41 for two medium pizzas. Are you serious????

Quality Chicago style pizza. It comes down to personal preference whether you like Chicago style pizza and which place you prefer. Giordano's is definitely worth trying out and may even be your favorite! Personally, I prefer Lou Malnati's, but Giordano's makes a good tasting pie as well. My favorite combos are either sausage+spinach or sausage+mushroom. The crust at Giordano's is more flaky than Lou Malnati's and Giordano's has a thicker layer of cheese.

It's 50/50 whether or not you get good food. It's 50/50 whether or not they give you fast service. I've had it both ways. But it's 100% that they will screw up your Party Room reservation. I've requested it twice, and both times it hasn't been recorded properly, even AFTER I confirmed it with a "manager". My party got there and the room was already being used by someone else. BOTH times. They messed up one birthday party and one business meeting. Nope, never again. Screw me once, shame on you, screw me twice shame on me.

My Dad called in an order 4 hours ago and when he went to pick up his order just now, the order was messed up and they only had 1 pizza ready instead of the 2 pizzas we ordered and the wings we ordered. They tried to get my Dad to take home the 1 pizza after he gave them his money for the WHOLE order, and claimed it's a "busy night" which is WHY my Dad called in advance. Horrible service....we've ordered from Giordano's every super bowl season too. You guys suck.

When you think deep dish, this place comes first to mind. If you're craving a heavy cheese filled pizza, this is the place you need to go. I suppose they could do easy cheese if that's what you prefer, like myself, but decent pizza.

Everyone told me that this was the best place to get deep dish and it was. a bit pricey but it filled me up like you wouldnt believe. i ordered to go, my order was correct. i saw LOTs of families so i could see how it would be an annoying place to dine in. the thin crust was great. not too thin but not too thick. but really we spent 54 dollars on 2 pizzas. i spend 60 a week on groceries so i'd say this is a once every blue moon kinda place.

I ordered the Veggi Stuffed Pizza and spent about $30.00. The pizza was super salty and I asked my other family members and they said the same. I enjoyed their pizza for many years but the past few times I have not had a good time. I am not sure if it this location or all. I think my blood pressure is still high from that night lol.

Was at this location for a retirement party. I was surprised at how large the restaurant was. The service was great for such a large part (at least 50 people). Multiple types of pizza were served, deep and thin. The spinach and mushroom deep dish is excellent. One of the best deep dish style in Chicago area.

This place used to be great but now the service sucks. I came in and asked about the lunch special and the hostess "Perla" gave me an attitude when I asked about the menu. I read the other reviews about how this place has gone down hill but I wanted to see for myself. Yes, they are right. The staff is rude and I don't think I'll be coming back as much. The lunch special prices are now over $10 for a baby pizza and fries! The 50% off Monday pizza is now 40% off and the service is always 50% off. I also feel the quality of pizza is not was it once was, which on my opinion was the best deep dish in Chicago. C'mon Giordano's get it together...

Service was horrible. Food was bland. I almost was going to ask the waitress if she forgot to put ground beef as topping then I finally found one towards the crust. Barely any cheese. The veggies were scarce. Left depressed thinking this was Chicago Deep Dish Pizza. Thank goodness for Pequod or else I would say Chicago you're in trouble if you think Giordano's is good deep dish pizza.

I was in Chicago for the week so I decided to order Giordano's to my hotel room one night per the recommendation from the front desk. The girl on the phone was nice enough while taking my order, but the pizza itself was quite underwhelming. I ordered the stuffed deep dish with pepperoni and although it looked good once I opened the box, the saying holds true that you can't judge a book by its cover. The sauce (what little there was on the pizza) was watery and tasted like store bought marinara, ala Ragu or Prego. I realize that deep dish pizza is supposed to be more doughy, but I really think that this pie could have used a couple more minutes in the oven. Overall, the pizza was mediocre at best and garnered a "meh" experience in my mind.

This was my first time to Chicago and my first experience with Chicago-style pizza. i was not disappointed! We decided to go with the Chicago Classic deep dish and were not disappointed one bit! The two of us were only able to finish half of the small pizza, but the leftovers were delcious when eaten cold the next morning! My favorite part about this pizza was that it wasn't at all greasy! My only other experience with deep dish has been Pizza Hut and that is swimming in grease and absolutely nasty! Giordano's pizza was not greasy and everything about it was perfect! Chicago, if this isn't your best deep dish then I can't wait to come back and try some more!

i ordered a pizza togo and when i went to this location to pick them up (i already paid for the pizza online) but i forgot to mention about the coupon so i showed them the coupon when i got there and this lady (i think she was the manager) gave me a nasty attitude and started mocking me so i kept my cool and asked her nicely if she can void the transaction (since it was my fault) and process the coupon again and she still gave me an attitude!!! Pizza was delicious but HORRIBLE service!!! if she gives me an attitude again next time i think i'm going to lose my cool and snap on her

My review of Giordano is strictly for their carry out pizza. Large sausage thin crust, is good, a bit on the salty side. Lots of cheese, crust ok. Much much prefer my fav, which is Lou Malnati over Giordano. Can normally get a $3/off coupon for Giordano.

At the request of my son I decided to give Giordonon's another try. The prices were high, the pizza fair at best. We ordered a deep dish sausage & cheese pizza that was very skimpy on the sausage & cheese and dry over all. There are better values and deep dish pizzas out there. Don't waste your money here

This place has terrible service for carry out. Twice my wife ordered a pizza and they gave me the wrong pizza. I was pretty pissed both times when I got home. My wife called them and they said to bring it back and we will give you the right pizza. My wife said yeah right you come and deliver the guy said fine and didn't even apologize. Another time I waited for my pizza for 45 minutes and it was in the warmer the whole time. I was pissed and was pretty close to slapping the manager, but chose not too. Also I will never order from there again. My wife after today said she will not either. The place is a joke stay away.

I use to order from Giordanos all the time. However they recently changed their menu and I've notice a huge downgrade. First, they've taken a lot of their pastas off the menu. Now theres a very limited selection. Second, their portions have gotten smaller. Their pasta meals use to come with salad or soup, now thats extra. Third, when they delivered they always use to add a small loaf of bread with our pasta, not anymore - all they give you is a stale stick of bread that tastes like cardboard. As for the pizza, its more expensive now but still the same quality. There are a lot of places in the area with the same good quality ingredients and lower prices.

I owe a lot of pounds to Giordano's pizza. Many fond memories too. The space is newly renovated and is much more spacious, so the dine-in experience is A-OK. Plus, there's historic Mo' Gro' pictures and maps decorating the walls--it's pretty sweet. The pizza I discovered not too long ago thanks to a friend is the thin crust fresh tomato pizza. Good Lord it's good! Mmmm...pizza... I will say this (and it makes me more of a "special" pizza lover than most: I hate sauce. When I order pizza, I always request as little sauce as possible, and Giordano's ALWAYS delivers without hesitation. The calamari here is a bit too greasy for me, but considering that calamari is "deep fried" squid, I can't imagine how it could be less greasy. It's still good though--really, really good. Here's what I like about this place: 1. Local 2. Fast delivery 3. They will customize your pizza however you want it. Really. 4. Always have coupons

This location is under construction but they still do pick-up and delivery. Talk about delicious! I get the deep dish with spinach, carmelized onions, ground beef, and thick marinara sauce on top. I eat it like I'm going to the electric chair. Something worth getting fat on.

Went to this place for my friend's B-day and ordered too much for the three of us. We ordered the Antipasto Salad (to share), the Calamari, and the medium Special (sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, onions) stuffed pizza. The salad was okay, Calamari's always delicious, and the pizza was fabulous! Each slice was loaded with cheese and other yummies mentioned above...ohh the crust was good too. ^_^. This place is perfect for stuffed/deep dish pizza. *Next time we'll call in early to have Giordanos make our pizza before we make our way down there. That way we can skip the waiting time. Completely for got to call this time...x_X

Been there a few times with friends. Plenty of space for large parties and the pizza is decent. But as a chain that tries to separate itself from local pizza place- expectations are higher. It can start by doing more with its food and waiter service.

Not a big fan of Giordano's. The service is probably some of the worst around. And as for the food, I would much rather drive another 10 minutes to Malnati's. The remodel is nice, maybe they should improve the service next.

Recently renovated, the restaurant now looks more like a shameless emulation of more classy Italian eateries. Decor aside, the appetizers lacked any original flair and the deep-dish pizza only appeared delicious. As soon as I took one bite I knew that the decorations were not the only things that only seemed italian. The sauce was bland, the cheese lacked richness and the crust was soggy. It was not worth the wait and the alcohol menu was laughable. The worst part may have been the dessert, the so-called "peach ripieno" Which was basically a gutted peach filled with tasteless sorbet. It came to the table nearly frozen solid. The service was decent and the ambiance was the same. All in all, it was not the Giordano's I remembered nor do I wish to remember the new one.

I've eaten here and gotten their stuffed pizza carry-out many times. But not in the past year or so, and I don't plan on ordering from them anytime in the future. I'm with Jacob J.: their stuffed pizza is now awful. They must have changed management at some point, because I can clearly tell they changed their recipe. The last three times we ordered, it was bad. I'm a sauce afficionado, and their sauce was rancid. It's really too bad. But - the good news is you can travel about a quarter mile from here and eat at Pequod's. Their pizza is divine!

  • Stacy D.

Disappointed again. Pizza is not the issue. But the service stinks for carryout! This is the second time I have carried out and both times they said the pizza was not ready. After 15 min. of waiting nothing. But really the whole time it was in the warmer. The worst part is that there has never been an apology, just a rude manager. I will be giving my business to someone else? P

Stopped in this past weekend to celebrate a birthday with family. Cold and rainy outside, not very busy inside. The last time I came through was more than a year ago. I feel like management has changed since then. They gave us a long table near the front door, six people. We arrived in two groups, the first got silverware and plates. We sat. Asked for flatware, etc Ate some apps, then the pizza came and after she brought our plates, etc. I wondered (silently) how long our server had been in the service industry. She was crappy at it. Slow with refills, I know we wanted beers, but, they never came. The stuffed 3 topping pizza was terrible. Too watery and there was a dip in one slice where you could see 3cm of oil just sitting on top. Tasteless. More than half remained and we chucked it. The thin 3 topping pizza, much better. Tasteful, the entire pie was gone in minutes. Amongst appetizers, calamari was best. Giordano's isn't one of my favorite places, coupled with the service and the poor overall taste of the stuffed, I wouldn't recommend this location to any friends.

So you go to a pizza place to eat pizza. I have to remind myself of that at times when I go. I ordered the bruschetta expecting the classic tomato, basil, olive oil, and garlic mixture. I was not happy when I saw that onions and balsamic were contaminating my holy mixture. What did we learn today? Order pizza at pizza places.

They have great deals on Mondays. The pizzas are large and yummy. They also have great choices for non-pizza eaters. The service is quick, but be careful on Mondays, you may have to wait to be seated. There's lots of space and they can accommodate any size party.

1/2 off Pizza on Mondays!!! And as long as you eat half, you can take the rest home. Be prepared to wait in line, of course. Anywho, the service is always pretty good and they are able to handle larger groups fairly well. I've never had any problems here (but then again, I dont think I have to been to this one for about four years so things could have changed a bit). Mmmm I love giordano's stuffed pizzed! its so good. (in fact im waiting for the logan sq location to deliver one right now!)

Giordonos used to be the place for me for Pizza. I would go there for pick up only on special occasions. It is expensive pizza. Their stuffed crust was some of the best in the Chicago metro area. Sadly, this is no longer true. We ordered three stuffed crust pizzas for $70. I was very dissappointed. It looked good and smelled better. As we dug into our pizzas what we found was crust, cheese and tomato sauce. As we looked for the sausage, the green peppers, and mushrooms we found more tomato sauce. We looked a littl;e deeper and we found more tomato sauce. After an exhaustive search through the stuffed crust pizza, we found our prize a few pieces of sausage, green pepper and mushroom. This was true of all three pizzas. For $70, I expected my goodies to come leaping out of the pizza. Instead I found crust, a lot of sauce, and some cheese. In addition, the quality has slipped. . they have a great repuation, I guess they are going to get by on that.

The pizza here is really good. They put lots of cheese on it and the deep dish is the best. I usually just carry out on Mondays because after five, they give you 50% off the pizza.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
